Away from the slopes
You can enjoy winter in Tux with the whole family in both sporty and more relaxed ways. Many sports and activities such as cross-country skiing, winter hiking, tobogganing, ice skating, and ice stock offer tons of fun on the snow and ice.
Cross-country skiing
In the Tux Valley, you'll find a true paradise for cross-country skiers. There are 16 km of classic trails from Tux-Vorderlanersbach to Hintertux.
- Of these, 14 km are on the Luggi-Gredler trail from Tux-Vorderlanersbach to Madseit.
- A 1.5 km trail in Hintertux (ideal for technique training or a short lap).
The trail access is directly behind the hotel. Various difficulty levels allow both advanced and beginners to enjoy a sporty break amidst the picturesque winter landscape. Several local ski schools also offer cross-country skiing lessons – for proper technique and tracking. Appropriate cross-country skiing equipment is available at local sports shops and ski rentals (for ex: Insider Sportshop).
Ice skating and ice stock
The large natural ice skating rinks in Lanersbach offer the perfect setting, where you can show off your skills on skates or turn daring pirouettes on ice. Ice skates for adults and children can be rented on-site. For sociable gatherings, we recommend a cheerful game of ice stock. On the 4 ice stock lanes in Lanersbach, you can choose between distance shooting and target shooting. In the evening, the ice rinks are floodlit. Ca. 1.5 km from Hotel Kirchlerhof.
Winter hiking and snowshoeing
Even away from the slopes, rustic alpine huts and cozy refreshment stops entice visitors to come by. 68 km of prepared winter hiking paths lead to the most beautiful huts and hill farms. Especially popular are winter hikes on the Eggalm, Penken, or Sommerbergalm. Awaiting you as a well-deserved reward are delicious Zillertal specialties and unobstructed views of the snowy alpine panorama.
Tobogganing and sledding
How about a fun toboggan ride for a change? In the Zillertal, there are a total of 14 toboggan routes, 2 of which are in the Tuxertal. The different toboggan runs can be reached on foot or by taxi shuttle, and some are floodlit. Toboggans can be rented at most huts. So, nothing stands in the way of a cozy evening at a hut with an exciting toboggan ride.
